Get To Know – Evan’s Dilemma

SCMG – Who are the members of your band?

The band is called Evan’s Dilemma and is made up of the following members: Joel McCreight, lead vocals, guitars, keyboards, principal songwriter; Kevin Heuer, drums and percussion; Jay Scott, guitars, vocals; Matthew McCreight, Bass, guitars, and keyboards.

SCMG – What genre do you consider yourself?

We are modern alternative rock and power pop.

SCMG – What was your biggest accomplishment in 2017?

Started playing live again and started recording a new full length album, the first in 11 years.

SCMG – What are your plans for 2018?

To release our new album, that will be called Under The Sun.

SCMG – Where and when can we find you?

We are from Greenville, SC.  Our website is and our facebook page Our last album from 2006 is available at  You can catch up live at various clubs in the Upstate of SC and look to play at venues in the midlands and low country of South Carolina in 2018.

SCMG – Who would you consider your biggest local influence?

The Killer Whales.

SCMG – What would they say about you? 

That Evan‘s Dilemma has a great sense of melody, songs, and passion.

SCMG – Who would you like to work with but haven’t yet had the chance?

Nationally, Foo Fighters/Dave Grohl, Chris and Tom Lord Alge as mixing engineers, Steve Albini, Rob Cavallo, or Daniel Lanois,  In SC, the Killer Whales, Needtobreath, and Edwin McCain.

SCMG – What are your favorite albums of all time from any musician?

Cooper Blue by Sugar, The Bends and OK Computer by Radiohead, American Idiot and Dookie by Green Day, The Joshua Tree and Actung Baby by U2, Takk and Untitiled by Sigur Ros, #1 Record – Big Star,  The Blue Album by Weezer, The Colour and The Shape by Foo Fighers, Nevermind by Nirvana,  Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys; Every Beatles Album ever made, Document by REM, Blue Sky Mining by Midnight Oil, Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty, There are just too many to name.

SCMG – If you could meet any of your favorite musicians, who would you choose and why?

Bob Mould, he is my hero.  U2, my favorite since childhood, Radiohead,they are brilliant,  Members of Rush, just because.
