SCMG – What are your plans for 2018?
PPSB – Studio. …studio. …studio.
Brett, LJ and Justin have all been writing, so we are going through lots of tunes and seeing which ones will be on the new cd.
SCMG – Where and when can we find you?
PPSB – We have at this point only booked 3 gigs for 2018…
Rhythm on the River at River Walk Ampitheater and Stillwater Taproom in Augusta, Georgia (both in April ).
We are also playing a Private Festival on Easter Weekend.
Check website for updates as more roll in.
SCMG – Who would you consider your biggest local influence?
PPSB – Since we have lots of interests, we are influenced by a wide array of artists in the area…whether it’s drummers from the likes of Dick Moons and Lee Ann Kornegay….players and singer-songwriters like Reggie Sullivan, The Dubber, Danielle Howle, Bentz Kirby, and Joe Jacobson. There are also photographers like Molly Harrell and poets like John Starino. We can also go as far as mentioning Patrick Chapman that runs The Woodshed Archive that has helped us define more of the Columbia Sound by recording so many people in the area. We have a rich array of creative types that are influencing our community in lots of ways so to just say a couple of local players wouldn’t do justice to all of the things that influence us as a band.
SCMG – What would they say about you?
Hopefully….they would speak kindly about us. We try and be nice to others so they would hopefully say they like our music as well as the people in the band.
SCMG – What are your favorite albums of all time from any musician?
Dear gawd….we could go on for days….let’s say….a LOT of Grateful Dead live show recordings….Miles Davis “Kinda Blue”….Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon”…..Led Zeppelin “IV”…..John Coltrane…”Giant Steps”….Sex Pistols “Never Mind the Bullocks”….Nitty-gritty Dirt Band….”Will the Circle be Unbroken….Babatunde Olatunji….”Drums of Passion”
SCMG – If you could meet any of your favorite musicians, who would you choose and why?
(A person favorite from all of our answers was)….John Bonham (drummer for Zeppelin)…why?…..we would like to see if we could beat him in a round of darts.
